A wonderful quiet place for a long weekend. The location is ideal for hiking. The room was large and clean. The service staff in the hotel and in the restaurant are friendly. Breakfast is currently available at the table and is nicely prepared. In the evening, the menu offers regional and seasonal dishes. We recommend the various fruit schnapps. For children there is a large playground and various animals to watch. We would love to come back

An idyllic little inn surrounded by forest, fresh air and pleasant tranquility. The outdoor area and the inn were decorated with attention to detail. We stopped for coffee and delicious cake and really enjoyed the time.

We have in Sep. In 2020 we celebrated our wedding in the Waldgasthaus Stiefelburg. The free wedding took place on the lawn outside and the subsequent celebration in the beer garden in a marquee that we were allowed to set up especially for this purpose. We rented all the rooms for our guests, so that we could enjoy a wonderful celebration until the early hours of the morning. The next day there was an extensive breakfast for everyone. The location is fantastic, in the middle of the forest and with a great view from the beer garden to the neighboring valley and the Thuringian Forest. The service and the food and drinks were excellent, in particular the buffet was delicious and looked great. The team is friendly, competent and reliable and, especially in the planning and preparation time, communication went smoothly so that we were able to implement all of our wishes and ideas. A really successful event that we and our guests will always remember with joy. Many thanks to the Stiefelburg team! Clear recommendation!

Very well-kept ambience, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings. Much in the making ... very dedicated leader. Food very good, bring hunger! The portions are very ample! Happy to come back anytime!

(Group walks in the forest, great views, cozy and well-kept dining area, petting zoo, play facilities, etc.) After our visit yesterday we would like to take the time for an evaluation: The dishes are classic German or Thuringian cuisine. Sometimes with a touch of modern flair. So never old-fashioned, but also no Schikimicki. Preparation, quality and freshness were always perfect on our visits. And this applies from the starter to the espresso afterwards. The service (yesterday a man with a Czech accent) is always very pleasant and courteous. Nobody gets upset if, for example, sometimes a toddler dances in between or special requests from the children are expressed. All in all, we find the Stiefelburg to be above average in every respect, compared to most of the restaurants in the region. We find the prices completely reasonable. The Stiefelburg has changed to the advantage in terms of the external facilities. There are plenty of cozy seats, lovingly draped with cushions. The food is very good. It's worth a visit

Very nice location with a playground. Unfortunately we couldn't test the food because the service was very rude and stressed. It was a shame because actually we would have liked to eat something. Otherwise it was great but especially the kids were busy in the playground.
